Last few days before the exhibition - Steph

Dec, Emma, Craig, Max, Charlie, Emily and Steph

Firstly, here's a few photos of the last group meeting on Thursday

During the meeting we discussed the final touches etc, one of the main concerns we had was that the posters had no information on them, it would have been good if we could have seen a mock up as a group beforehand as it is something we could have dealt with, so we decided that we would stick these around the art college but we would also have to create some more advertising aids to give people the information such as time and place, what it is (an art exhibition). Also, although we had some good ideas about stunts, in the end they just weren't feasible, mainly due to cost and practicality, however, Emma provided masks for Craig and Max, so one of the 'stunts' was them handing out the new flyers around the art college, both dressed in black jeans and stripy t-shirts, not speaking, but just dancing around and been a bit weird and freaky to get people interested in what they were handing out and create a bit of hype about the show.

I think another problem we had was that there was a bit of crossed wires about the colour scheme of the show, when we met up last week, Emma and Dec had been to the market and the red and white fabric had vertical not horizontal stripes, so they brought in a sample of blue and green (ish) striped fabric and we decided to go for that one, so Max and Craig went for this colour scheme with the t-shirts for the stunts but the posters were done red. Although its not a big problem at all, i do think it proves however good facebook is, these meetings are vitally important so as everybody is on the same page.

While myself Max and Emily were out putting posters up, Emily Craig Dec and Charlie were blowing up balloons that Craig and Dec bought, and writing the time and place of the exhibition to stick on the wall next to a couple of the posters, and also to create some film footage of max and craig throwing them round the building in their masks.

Although it's not a very clear picture, you can see here the leaflets we handed out. Because it was very rushed and didnt have time to go back into the print room and create new plates/lino cuts, all i could really do was add a little information on photoshop. I also lightened the background so the writing was easier to read, the top part says
'Experience the weird and wonderful through the artwork of Birmingham's newest ring leaders...'
and at the bottom I think it says
'Monday 7th March, Margaret Street Art School (Project Space 1)
From 1pm until 7pm Tuesday 8th March
Admission: Free'
We handed them all out and i forgot to take a photo of it to stick on here so can't remember exactly what it says but its saved on the uni computers so i'll put it up when I'm next in.

Here is Craig and Max dancing around and handing out the flyers

I tried to document how much people were staring - as this was the desired effect!

Emma was at the bottom of the stairs filming this
